What is Slackpacking?
Ever want to have an adventure, exploring beautiful new hikes and trails without the burden of a backpack, hard mattress, and pot noodles for dinner to look forward to? You can. Spekboom Tours has recently introduced a series of guided “slackpacking” luxury hikes in the beautiful KZN Midlands, Ukhahlamba Drakensberg, Free State and Mpumalanga, offering comfortable accommodation each night, luggage transfers and delectable catering.
Our slackpacking hikes include some of the most scenic and biodiverse parts of the KZN midlands. With access to private land, nature reserves and locally forged conservancies, these hikes are made available to people who would not normally have access to these special places. All you need to do is organise a group of friends or join one of our prearranged trips, and look forward to a gentle stroll carrying nothing more than a packed picnic, some binoculars and a good birding book.
